The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has approved a series of statutory amendments during its Extraordinary General Assembly held on June 5, 2026, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex.
The meeting brought together representatives from across Morocco’s football landscape and focused on the continued modernization of the country’s football governance framework.
Addressing delegates, FRMF President Fouzi Lekjaa said the assembly was part of an ongoing reform process aimed at strengthening Moroccan football and adapting its institutions to new challenges. He praised the efforts of clubs, coaches, administrators, and technical personnel, describing their work as essential to the sport’s continued development.
Lekjaa also highlighted the strategic importance of football within Morocco’s broader development agenda and stressed the need to continue reforms as the country advances preparations for hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
Delegates unanimously approved amendments to several articles of the federation’s statutes, a move intended to support the evolving structure of Moroccan football and enhance organizational efficiency. Following the extraordinary session, the federation held its Ordinary General Assembly, during which financial and activity reports were approved.
The latest reforms come as Morocco seeks to consolidate its growing influence in African and international football, building on recent sporting achievements and major investments in infrastructure and governance.
