Football legend Olivier Kahn is set to return to Douala on October 1, 2026, for his first major keynote address in Africa at Experience Summit 2026. The former Germany and Bayern Munich captain will share his experience of elite performance and explore how strong teams can drive innovation and growth.

Douala is preparing to host a major gathering focused on innovation, leadership and performance. On October 1 and 2, 2026, Experience Summit 2026 will bring together business leaders, experts, entrepreneurs and emerging talents around the theme of “Shaping the Future Through Relevant Innovations.”

Among the prominent speakers, Oliver Kahn will hold a special place. The former Bayern Munich and Germany captain will deliver his first major keynote address in Africa during the event.

His intervention will take place as part of the Leadership Forum on Thursday, October 1, focusing on a subject closely connected to his experience in elite sport: how team performance can stimulate innovation and growth.

From elite football to business leadership

For more than two decades, Oliver Kahn built his career in environments defined by pressure, high expectations and the constant demand for collective performance.

His achievements include eight German league titles, six German Cups, the UEFA Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup in 2001, as well as a World Cup final appearance with Germany in 2002.

After his playing career, Kahn continued his journey in media, management and entrepreneurship. He later served as CEO of Bayern Munich from 2020 to 2023.

His experience across both elite sport and organizational management makes his appearance in Douala particularly relevant to the discussions planned at Experience Summit 2026.

In a recent social media post, Kahn expressed his excitement about returning to the Cameroonian economic capital.

“I’m looking forward to returning to Douala on October 1 to deliver my first keynote in Africa at Experience Summit 2026.”

He also highlighted his intention to interact with business leaders and experts from different sectors about how team performance can drive innovation.

Three forums exploring the future of organizations

Experience Summit 2026 will go beyond Kahn’s keynote, with the programme structured around three major forums.

The Leadership Forum, scheduled for October 1, will focus on leadership, team cohesion and the human factors driving organizational growth. Kahn’s keynote is scheduled from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

The Experts Forum will follow in the afternoon, with discussions around mobile innovation and its impact across different sectors, including finance, human resources, mobility, marketing and entertainment.

On October 2, the Emerging Experts Forum will put the spotlight on a new generation of creators, entrepreneurs, consultants and professionals working at the intersection of influence, content and innovation.

Innovation at the heart of the conversation

The summit will also examine a major challenge facing organizations today: how to identify innovations that are genuinely relevant in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence, digital transformation, regulatory changes and geopolitical shifts.

Rather than focusing solely on technological novelty, the event aims to explore innovations capable of generating sustainable value for organizations.

Kahn’s contribution fits directly into this broader conversation. His experience in elite sport provides a different perspective on building high-performing teams, managing objectives and creating the collective conditions needed to turn ambition into results.

Douala ready for a major African gathering

With Olivier Kahn among its headline speakers, Experience Summit 2026 is set to create a meeting point between sport, business, leadership and innovation.

For African business leaders and professionals, the event will offer an opportunity to engage with international experts while exploring solutions and ideas relevant to the continent’s rapidly changing economic environment.

Experience Summit 2026 will take place on October 1 and 2 in Douala, Cameroon, with participants able to attend in person or follow the event online.

Media professionals wishing to cover the summit can also apply for press accreditation through the official Experience Summit platform.
