Benin mobilizes nearly 100 million euros in France. The funding targets electricity, agriculture and forensic expertise. The agreements were concluded on Monday in Paris.

Romuald Wadagni leaves Paris with several financing agreements. Benin mobilizes a total of 65.5 billion FCFA. The agreements were signed with AFD and Bpifrance. Electricity concentrates the largest envelope. Some 52.1 billion FCFA are allocated to the SBEE network. The project provides for more than 120,000 new connections in 750 localities. Fifteen municipalities of Mono, Couffo and Borgou are concerned.

Agriculture also targeted

Agriculture and fish farming benefit from 9.8 billion FCFA. An envelope of 6.6 billion will support in particular the fish sector in Alibori, Atacora and Donga. Other financing concerns the agricultural sectors. The third component concerns justice and health. A mandate letter of 3.54 billion FCFA was signed with Bpifrance. It must contribute to the PRIAM project, which includes a national DNA expertise laboratory. Its announced capacity reaches 30,000 analyses per year. More than 500 professionals must also benefit from specialized training.
