Recent global health crises exposed vulnerabilities but also accelerated reform within African health systems. Investments in laboratory capacity, surveillance networks, and vaccine distribution logistics have strengthened preparedness.

Regional cooperation mechanisms have improved information sharing and coordinated procurement of medical supplies. Local pharmaceutical production initiatives are gaining momentum in several countries.

Urbanization and lifestyle changes are increasing the prevalence of non communicable diseases, adding pressure to already stretched systems. Expanding universal health coverage remains a central policy objective.

Building resilient health systems is not only a social priority but an economic necessity, as public health stability directly affects productivity and investor confidence.
