AFCON 2025: New claims raise questions over Senegal-Morocco final

The AFCON 2025 final between Senegal and Morocco is far from over. Weeks after the dramatic clash, explosive new claims from Spanish newspaper AS are adding fuel to an already heated controversy.

Sources close to CAF suggest that Senegal’s actions before and during the final may not have been accidental. Instead, some believe the situation was carefully managed to influence public perception.

One of the key issues lies in logistics. Senegal reportedly ignored travel recommendations designed to avoid large crowds in Rabat. Critics now see this decision as a calculated move to create tension and highlight organizational flaws.

The accommodation dispute also raises eyebrows. Senegal complained about staying at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, claiming risks of espionage. Yet insiders argue this was highly unlikely given the size and structure of the facility. Other teams, including Cameroon, stayed there without any issues.

Things escalated dramatically during the match. A controversial penalty in the final minutes triggered chaos, with reports of Senegalese players walking off the pitch and even going live on social media from the dressing room.

Although Senegal won the trophy on the field, the battle is far from settled. Morocco continues to challenge the narrative, while CAF investigates both sides.

What started as a football match has now turned into a full-blown controversy involving politics, media pressure, and legal stakes. And this story might not be over yet.
